Cancellation policy
Cancelling a drive out.
MKAM is run totally by volunteers who give up their own free time for no payment. They willingly and happily give up their valuable free time to help others improve their driving skills and abilities. Please help us by ensuring that you keep to your agreed appointment with your Observer.
Should you find that you are unable to keep your appointment then please get in contact with your Observer at least 48 hours prior to re-arrange your appointment. We do appreciate that emergencies sometimes happen so if you are having to cancel on the day then please do ensure that you make contact with the Observer, don't just not turn up. This is plain old common courtesy! Our Observers also have to adhere to this policy too when cancelling appointments with their Associates.
Should you miss three appointments, without reasonable warning/cause, you will be placed back in the pool of Associates awaiting allocation to one of our Observers. While awaiting your allocation to a new Observer you will be expected to complete two consecutive Sunday Basic Guidance meetings.
Occasionally it has been necessary to cancel lessons due to extremely adverse weather such as heavy snow, ice or flooding. In cases such as these you and your Observer will seek to contact each other as soon as possible to arrange an alternative appointment.
This policy is not designed to deter anyone but to ensure that priority is given to motivated Associates, and our observers can make use of their free time!
