What to expect
Our car section meets on 3rd Sunday of the month at MK Village Hall in MK Village.
You can either join the Skill for Life programme through IAM website and they get in touch with Nick or you can contact Nick and come along to MK Village Hall for a Free Assessment drive first or come along on the Sunday and start.
The first session is a Powerpoint presentation and a demo drive which lasts about 90 minutes.
The following month you will then come along in your car and go out with one of our observers on a 60 minute assessed drive. This drive will include a pre-drive briefing and a debrief at the end. You will continue doing this once a month going out with different observers until you reach a certain standard. You’ll then be allocated a one to one observer to get you polished to test standard.
It’s difficult to say how long it takes – the average is 10 sessions, some take a lot less and some take a lot more, but we won’t encourage you to apply for your test until you are ready.
