Welcome to the MKAM Website.

You have connected to one of the select few IAM groups that cater for both car drivers and motorcyclists. Many of our nearly 400 members have passed or are intending to take IAM Tests on both vehicles. Our Mass Assessment Days regularly see over 40 motorcyclists of varying standards gather for our monthly rideouts, and we provide guidance to around 70-80 drivers at various stages of preparation for their test.

Whether you have only recently passed your DSA Test or have half a million miles or more under your belt, there is always something that you can do to improve the standard of your driving or riding, because the perfect driver or rider has not been invented. It is said that 98% of UK drivers believe that they are above average drivers: at least half of these must be mistaken, as some of the remaining two percent are definitely above average, they just lack the self confidence to recognise the fact.

People from all sorts of ages and backgrounds become Advanced Drivers and Riders. It is never too soon, or too late to learn if you are willing to listen and apply the guidance that we give to you. Advanced Driving/Riding is not a one-size fits all approach to driving: our driving needs to adapt to the road conditions. Whatever your reason for coming to us, we will be able to help you (provided it is related to Driving or Riding!). If you lack confidence on our ever-busier motorways, have returned to driving after a break (whether voluntary or enforced following a misdemeanour), are a newly-qualified driver/rider seeing that extra safety edge or just want to confirm that you are as good as you think you are, we will be able to give you the guidance that you need.

Whether you choose to undertake our guidance or not, please be safe and smooth in your driving, and treat other road users with courtesy and consideration no matter how bad you think their driving is.
